The Challenge
The client was stuck with legacy software that they had purchased when the business was a fraction of the size it is today. The operations team used several different applications that did not talk to each other, meaning data was manually re-entered multiple times per item of work.
The application did not fit their businesses and manual workarounds were required to get it to do what they needed. Core business concepts were not present in the existing system. Any replacement application need to be offline capable due field engineers needing to always have access to the system. Due to the complex needs of the business, no off-the-shelf solution was a good fit, and a custom build was the only viable option.

- Documented the entire flow of how each item of work moved through the business, and the pain points at each stage.
- Logged where, when, and why information was manually re-entered across the different systems
- Built a custom operations system that treated the manufacturer's business concepts as first class entities.
- Developed a mobile application that is fully functional offline, with data synchronisation when connectivity is available
